General
The Homecoming Bootcamp is designed for the moment when a parent is preparing to come home from the hospital or rehab — when decisions need to be made quickly and there isn’t much time to figure things out.
Some families begin using it while their parent is still in the hospital or rehab facility.
Others go through it ahead of time, so when that moment comes, they already understand what needs to happen.
You’ll have a clearer understanding of what needs to happen before your parent comes home — and what to expect once they do.
You’ll be able to:
• organize the key pieces of their care
• prepare the home environment
• understand how to coordinate support
• and approach the situation with more confidence
Instead of trying to figure it all out as you go.
That’s also very common.
Many parents value their independence and don’t see themselves as needing support — even when things begin to change.
This is where awareness becomes important.
Understanding their preferences and plans ahead of time can make future transitions smoother when help is eventually needed.
